Director's Massege

Dear Supporters and Well-Wishers,

As we mark the completion of 19 impactful years in the social development sector, it is with great pride and gratitude that I extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey with AAS. Over the years, we have understood that addressing social issues requires adaptive solutions rather than mechanical ones, especially for the long-term betterment of the most underrepresented communities.

In the past year (2022-23), our efforts have borne fruit, and we have successfully developed various spaces in both urban and rural communities. Notably, 25 Panchayats have been declared child-friendly, a significant milestone in our journey. Our vision now extends towards making Madhya Pradesh a child-friendly state, and we are determined to achieve this ambitious goal with knowledge and resource partnerships.

A key facet of our approach involves utilizing sports and education as mobilization tools and entry points for children. As we progress, we proactively address cross-cutting issues, with a special focus on the well-being and development of children. Looking ahead, we plan to expand our interventions for adolescent and youth development in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Chattisgarh, recognizing the pivotal role these demographics play in shaping the future.

In the past year, we have forged valuable collaborations, including partnerships with networks such as Catalyst 2030. We understand the significance of organizational culture and are actively working towards fostering an environment where our team can work to their full potential. We are incorporating elements of fun to enhance job satisfaction and overall productivity.

As part of our commitment to self-improvement, we are developing a 'self-awareness' module for adolescents and youth. This module, set to be available on an open platform in the coming months, aims to empower individuals with the tools they need for personal growth and self-discovery.

In closing, I am delighted to share that this year, we have made new partnerships with many organizations i.e. Azim Premji Foundation, Swara Baby Products and Welspun for implementing different projects in Madhya Pradesh, a testament to our team’s dedication and hard work and the unwavering support of our stakeholders. Together, we will continue to create positive change and foster a brighter, more inclusive future.

Thank you for being part of the AAS family.

Warm regards,

Waseen Iqbal
